ALUMNAE GET PAMPERED AT A S.P.A PARTY
The MMCAA-sponsored S.P.A PARTY held
last July 21, 2007 was a real treat for
all the Maryknoll Miriam alumnae
who were in attendance. It was an
afternoon meant to simply enjoy being
together and engage in serious woman
bonding. Alumnae from different
batches mingled and enjoyed the
sumptuous buffet amidst a tropical spa
setting of fresh spring flowers and lush
greenery. Of course, the guests
lost no time in availing of the free
back and shoulder massages offered by
Ayutthaya Spa (owned by alumna Zeny
Intal de Jesus). Others opted to
unwind in the massage chair brought by
Osim that could knead, tap, squeeze and
soothe your body from head to toe.
MMCAA president Atty. Mari Fabian
announced plans to launch the MMCAA
Alumni Card which will entitle card
holders to enjoy discounts at numerous
alumni-owned establishments and this was
met with cheers and applause by those
present.
Just to spice things up, Liza dela
Fuente Castaneda of Ridgepointe Ballet
asked everyone to join in some breathing
and stretching exercises, a sample of
her limberdance class for adults given
at the Moro Lorenzo. In true
Maryknoller fashion, women were game and
took off their shoes, moved and swayed
to the classical music. It was a
great way to loosen up and feel good
about their bodies.
Speaking of women’s bodies, the special
guest for the afternoon was Dr. Prudence
Aquino, Ob-Gyn of the St.Luke’s Medical
Center Menopause Clinic. She gave
a brief but informative presentation
about menopause, which was followed by
an open forum. It was a revelation
